Russian arms exports to India fall 42% between 2014-18 and 2009-13: Sipri
India’s arms imports decreased 24%, which was partly attributed to delays in deliveries of arms produced under license from foreign suppliers.


- A total of 155 countries imported major arms in 2014–18. The top five arms importers — Saudi Arabia, India, Egypt, Australia and Algeria— accounted for 35% of total arms imports in 2014–18.
- 67 countries exported major arms in 2014–18. The top five — the US, Russia, France, Germany and China — accounted for 75% of all arms exports. The top five in 2014–18 were the same as in 2009–13 but their combined total exports of major arms were 10% higher.
- Top 25 arms exporters accounted for 99% of the world's major arms exports in 2014-18, with a total of 87% coming from states in North America and Europe.
- Volume of international transfers of major arms in 2014-18 was 7.8% higher than in 2009-13 and 23% higher than in 2004-2008.
