Rural development ministry notifies defence ministry to acquire land in Tawang

Narendra Singh Tomar-led rural development ministry has notified ministry of defence the power to acquire 0.58 acres of land at Zero Point (Bumteng and Ungkhar village) in district Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh for strengthening defence operations.

Narendra Singh Tomar-led rural development ministry has notified ministry of defence the power to acquire 0.58 acres of land at Zero Point (Bumteng and Ungkhar village) in district Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 for strengthening defence operations.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (v) of clause (e) of section 3 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (30 of 2013), the Central Government hereby notifies that the Ministry of Defence shall, subject to the control of the President and until further orders, exercise the powers and discharge the functions of the “Appropriate Government” under the said Act and the rules made thereunder, for acquisition of 0.58 acres land at Zero Point (Bumteng and Ungkhar village), District Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh,” it said.
