NEW DELHI: Home Minister Rajnath Singh did not do a press conference on May 23, as proposed by Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley, but when Singh finally does one on Friday, it will be a grand affair with a special 15-minute long documentary in Hindi in which there will be a special message recorded by Singh.

'Jab surakasha junoon ban jaaye, to aatanki kahin bhi ho, haarte hain' (When security becomes a passion, terrorists everywhere, will be defeated) will be the dominant message of the documentary as the ministry will harp on decreased infiltration bids and more terrorist kills in J&K in the last year to counter Congress charge of rising incidents of firing on the border.

Infiltration bids dropped to 222 from 277, 65 infiltrations happened compared to 97 earlier and 110 terrorists, including commanders of Hizbul Mujahedeen and Lashkar-e-Toiba, were gunned down compared to 67 during the UPA regime over a year, the ministry will say.

Surrender of 671 Naxals in 2014, nearly double than previous year's, will also be cited along with arrest of NDFB (Sonojit) insurgents involved in the Assam massacre and improvement of security in Tripura, Manipur, Nagaland and Naxal-affected states, to buttress the claim of the home ministry's strong approach towards terror.

The documentary will credit the country's electorate for voting for, "hope, expectation and development" by choosing Narendra Modi. The documentary will end reiterating the message that the ministry has been able to dig a flag and change the course of time as its leadership is "capable" and recount Modi's words that this is "just the beginning" of the process to take the country forward by uniting it.

The ministry will also stress that the country is "now capable of defending itself ", capable of handling natural disasters like in Jammu & Kashmir or Assam and even help neighbours like Nepal.
