Boost for Our Own Industries
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has announced a big step towards relying on our own resources for defense needs. In the budget for the coming year (2023-24), a whopping 75% of the funds for buying defense equipment will be directed towards our own industries. This is a major increase from the previous year, where 68% of the budget was allocated for domestic production.

In a recent announcement during the 'Swavlamban 2.0' event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the Fifth Positive Indigenisation List (PIL). This list comprises 98 items, including complex systems, sensors, weapons, and ammunition that will be produced within the country, following the guidelines set in the Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020.
