Suryastra system designed for long-range precision strikes

The Suryastra system has been designed to carry out precision strikes deep inside hostile territory at ranges of up to 150 km and 300 km, significantly extending the reach of conventional artillery systems.

The rocket system is also said to support multiple types of rockets and missiles through a universal launch architecture, allowing different munitions to be deployed from the same platform without hardware modifications.

According to reports, the launcher is capable of deploying loitering munitions, or kamikaze drones, up to a distance of 100 km, providing both real-time surveillance and deep-strike operational flexibility.

The system is mounted on a high-mobility all-terrain vehicle and reportedly features “shoot-and-scoot” capability, enabling it to fire and quickly relocate to avoid counter-battery attacks.

Indian Army procurement linked to modernisation push

The firing demonstration was conducted as part of a procurement order placed on the company by the Indian Army.

Reports suggest that the Indian Army signed an emergency procurement contract worth around Rs 293 crore with Nibe Limited for the deployment of the systems as part of its rapid modernisation efforts.
