President's Standard and Colours to be presented on March 3

CHENNAI: President Pranab Mukherjee will award the "President's Standard and Colours" at the Air Force Station, Tambaram, here on March 3.

Mukherjee, also the supreme commander of the Indian Armed forces, "will be awarding the Prestigious President's Standard and Colours to 125 Helicopter Squadron and Mechanical Training Institute, respectively," during a ceremonial parade scheduled at the IAF station on Friday, a PIB (Defence) release said.

Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Edappady K Palaniswami, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and many others were scheduled to participate in the event, it said.

A demonstration of precision drill by Air Warrior Drill Team (AWDT) and an aerobatic display by Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team (SKAT), besides fly Past by Mi-17 and Mi-35 helicopters, Pilatus and Kiran trainer aircraft were also scheduled, the release added.
