JAMMU: A high-level review meeting for discussing security measures and coordination between army and police forces was today held in Pathankot in the aftermath the attack on the IAF base there.

"A security discussion was organised in Pathankot on 16 and 17 March with a view to synergising the efforts of various agencies involved with security of rear areas, particularly Army and police forces," PRO MoD, Jammu, Lt Col Manish Mehta said today.

The two-day meeting which began yesterday, was attended by senior officers from the civil administration, police, CRPF, RPF, NCC, representatives of Nehru Yuva Kendra, apart from higher commanders of Army.

"The aim of the discussion was to work out the modalities of joint functioning and focused on ways of sharing intelligence and inter-communication", Lt Col Mehta said.

The contribution of NCC Cadets, members of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Village Defence Committees and Veterans was also discussed, he said.
