Pathankot attack: Senior Punjab Police officer Salwinder Singh to face lie detector test
NEW DELHI: Senior Punjab Police officer Salwinder Singh, kidnapped and set free by the terrorists involved in the Pathankot attack, will undergo lie-detector test next week. NIA said that they will seek permission from the court to conduct a lie detector test on Salwinder. Singh’s consent will also be required to make him undergo the test, added officials.

Singh has been questioned for five days and was also confronted with his cook Madan Gopal and caretaker of ‘Panj Peer Dargah’ Somraj. All three were brought faceto-face after “conflicting statements” emerged.

While Singh had told the Punjab police he frequently visited the shrine, Somraj claimed he had seen him for the first time hours before terrorists launched the attack. The sources said bringing them face-to-face was necessary because of “conflicting statements”.

Singh’s car was hijacked by terrorists before they entered the Pathankot IAF base on the intervening night of December 31 and January one.

In the meantime, the binocular recovered from the site of encounter is a stolen property of the US army. The serial number will be shared with the US to ascertain where the equipment was lost, the sources said.
