Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy close friendly relations which has been demonstrated time-to-time, Pakistan's High Commission said in a statement.

COLOMBO: Two Pakistani naval ships are in Sri Lanka on a 5-day goodwill visit, signalling strong political, diplomatic and defence ties between the two countries.

PMSS Dasht and PNS Zulfiquar arrived here on May 3 and May 4 respectively.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy close friendly relations which has been demonstrated time-to-time, Pakistan's High Commission said in a statement.

The visit is "a manifestation of the strong political, diplomatic, economic, cultural, and defence ties between the two countries", it said.

Pakistan Navy Ship Zulfiquar is the pioneer ship of the sword Class, F-22P Frigate Project. The ship is fitted with state-of-the-art weapons and sensors and caries a helicopter.
