ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces today claimed to have foiled a terror bid to target the Defence Day celebrations tomorrow.

An intelligence operation led to arrest of a terrorist who was planning to attack the event, military's media arm Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

"The terrorist was arrested during the operation who confessed his links with RAW," the statement said.

Separately, forces also arrested a suspected militant in Balochistan with various explosives in his possession, including an IED device, a mortar bomb and nut bolts.

Last month, security forces had claimed to have busted a group of militants who were planning to attack Independence Day celebrations on August 14 in Karachi.
