An Mi-17 helicopter of the Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's Muzaffarabad during take-off on Wednesday due to a technical fault, killing all personnel on board, according to the country's military.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, said there were no survivors in the crash.

"An Mi-17 helicopter of Pakistan Army Aviation crashed near Muzaffarabad during take-off due to a technical fault," the ISPR said, adding that all personnel on board "embraced martyrdom".

The identities and number of personnel aboard the helicopter were not immediately disclosed.

The development was initially reported by Pakistan's Dawn news publication, who cited Pakistan's army.
