Over 10,000 acres of defence land under encroachment: Manohar Parrikar

NEW DELHI: Over 10,000 acres of defence land is under encroachment across the country, the government said today.

A total of 10,125.63 acres of defence land is under encroachment across the country, Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar said in a written reply in Lok Sabha.

As per the details of the land under encroachment, maximum area was in Uttar Pradesh where 2882.89 acres of land has been encroached upon.

It is followed by Madhaya Pradesh (1515.82 acres) and Maharashtra (1009.85 acres), the Minister said.
