OROP scheme is a dilution of what UPA had announced: AK Antony

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Saturday fielded former defence minister AK Antony to pick holes in the Modi government’s announcement of the OROP scheme. Antony said the scheme announced was a “dilution” of what the UPA had announced, and dubbed the decision to not extend OROP to those servicemen who take premature retirement as a “betrayal”.

“Today’s announcement is totally disappointing. We had accepted the OROP demand in toto and were in the process of implementing it,” he said.
