A rare analysis of Islamic State suspects arrested in India last year shows that most of them are young, well off and formally educated, with a small chunk (15 per cent) having converted to Islam from other religions before pursuing the radical path.

According to data shared by the National Investigation Agency ( NIA), contrary to perception, barely 20 per cent of the ISIS suspects arrested in 2016 went to madrasas, with most pursuing formal education and belonging to the middle-income group, reports ET.
