One Rank One Pension: VK Singh writes to PM Narendra Modi hoping solution
NEW DELHI: As the demand for ‘One Rank, One Pension’ grows, minister of state for external affairs and former Army chief General VK Singh has written to the prime minister suggesting a wayout of the impasse that has plagued the Narendra Modi government for the past several weeks.

While General Singh has refused to divulge details of the crucial letter written to the prime minister due to technicalities involved, he has expressed hope that his party and the government will address the issue during its tenure as promised. Sources close to the minister told ET that General Singh is hopeful of a solution by his government without fail.

“There are certain technical issues on which I have apprised my prime minister… I have faith in my party. I have faith in my government,” the minister said.

On Sunday, Singh’s daughter Mrinalini Singh had joined the protest, saying she would also ask her father to join the cause. “I am here to support the cause of exservicemen because I, too, am an ex-serviceman’s daughter.”
