One Rank One Pension: Ex-servicemen hold rally in Punjab
BHATINDA: Seeking immediate implementation of One Rank One Pension ( OROP), ex-servicemen here today held a protest rally, disrupting traffic on the Chandigarh-Bathinda highway.

Ex-servicemen, under the banner of All India Ex-Servicemen League, marched to Army Commander's office here in the cantonment to submit a memorandum on the issue, league spokesman Lt Col (retd) S S Sohi said.

During their march the traffic on the Chandigarh- Bathinda highway remained affected for about an hour, police said adding that the traffic was diverted from alternative routes.

The ex-servicemen marched on both sides of four-laned highway for some three kms before submitting the charter of their demands to the Army Commander.

During the protest the situation remained peaceful and no untoward incident took place, police said.
