Defence spokesman Lt. Col Mahendra Rawat said the Cheetah helicopter was on a routine sortie when it crashed at around 10 a.m. Both the injured pilots were moved to the nearest military hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries, he said.
"The second pilot is under medical treatment. The cause of the crash at this stage is not known. Details are being ascertained," Lt. Col Rawat said.
In 2019, a military transport aircraft had crashed in Arunachal Pradesh, killing the 13 people on board the aircraft.
In 2011, former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Dorjee Khandu was killed in a chopper crash in the state.
