On maiden trip to US, CDS General Anil Chauhan to discuss security in Indo-Pacific

The senior officer will share India's views on the future of security in the region and areas for collaboration and jointness between friendly nations.

In his maiden visit to the United States, Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan will discuss the situation in the Indo Pacific and will interact with top global military leaders, including members of the Quad as well as the Aukus initiatives.

Gen Chauhan is leaving Saturday for the visit to San Diego where he is scheduled to speak at an event organised by the Hoover Institution. The event includes military leaders from the US, UK and Australia and will focus on security in the Indo Pacific. He will be in the US for four days.

The senior officer will share India's views on the future of security in the region and areas for collaboration and jointness between friendly nations.


The Quad initiative is a grouping of India, US, Japan and Australia that have common interests in the Indo-Pacific. Aukus is an initiative for technology sharing, specially in the field of nuclear submarines, between the US, UK and Australia.
