Northern Command chief Lt Gen D S Hooda to visit China next week

JAMMU: Aiming at greater cooperation between armies of the two countries, Northern Command chief Lt Gen D S Hooda will lead a delegation of army officers to China from December 14 to 19.

"Lt Gen Hooda will lead a delegation of military officers to China from December 14 to 19, on the invitation of Chinese government," PRO Defence Northern Command, Col S D Goswami said.

The visit is aimed at greater cooperation between the two military forces in areas of mutual interest, he said adding that the delegation will interact and exchange views with senior PLA officers.

They will visit various military and civil establishments in China, including PLA Headquarters at Beijing and Lanzhou military region, he said.

The delegation will also exchange views on measures to usher in greater peace and tranquillity along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh and Xingjiang province of China, he said.
