No one can dare occupy an inch of India’s land, Amit Shah says in praise of ITBP

The countrymen called them Hima-veers (brave warriors of snow), a title bigger than the Padma awards as it came from the people, and not a civilian honour from the government, Shah said after inaugurating a newly constructed office and residential buildings of the ITBP and laying the foundation stone for a central detective training institute of the Bureau of Police Research and Development at Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
“I am always assured and never worry at all about the India-China border when our ITBP soldiers are patrolling or camping because no one could encroach even an inch of our land,” Shah said, raining praise on the armed policemen demonstrating extraordinary patriotism for the country.
One cannot imagine how the ITBP soldiers manned the borders braving the harshest chill, but that they did it round the clock showed their strong willpower and deepest sense of patriotism, the union home minister said. They worked under the challenging geographical terrains in Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh and Kashmir, he added.
Shah praised the dedicated work of the central armed police forces and said the government planned to give them 100 days of leave to enable them to spend time with their family members.
He pledged the Centre’s commitment towards the welfare of the armed police personnel and said ever since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government came to power at the centre, it had special care about the housing and health facilities of the central armed police force personnel.
