No more interview for sub-inspectors in Delhi Police
The Home Minister approved discontinuation of interviews in the examinations conducted by the SSC for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (Group C post).

The Home Minister approved discontinuation of interviews in the examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police (Group C post).
The decision came after the Department of Personnel and Training wrote to all cadre-controlling authorities and the Home Ministry, being the competent authority for Delhi Police, approved the proposal for discontinuation of interviews for the post of Sub-Inspector, an official statement said.
In his Independence Day speech this year, the Prime Minister had said that a reason for corruption was the need for "approach" felt by people while applying for jobs and suggested that state governments and the central ministries discontinue the practice of interviews for junior-level recruitment.
Modi had said it happens some times that a candidate is high on merit for a job but is rejected in the interview and that is why merit should be promoted by recruiting only through transparent, online processes.
"We should end this... Interview can be held for jobs where personality or appearance is important," Modi had said.
