Doda terror attack
Four Indian Army soldiers, including an officer, were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Tuesday. The Congress party has sharply criticized the central government, highlighting recent attacks and casualties.

In a social media post, the Congress shared a graphic claiming nine terrorist attacks occurred within the first 38 days of the BJP government's third term. The post details that these attacks resulted in the deaths of 12 soldiers, injuries to 13, and claimed the lives of 10 civilians while injuring 44 others.

"We deeply mourn the loss of four soldiers in the Doda encounter. Our prayers are with their families during this difficult time," the party expressed.

"Our soldiers are paying the price of the fake claim of eradicating terrorism, sometimes on the pretext of demonetization, sometimes on the pretext of Article 370, by sacrificing their lives. Till when will we keep counting the bodies of our martyrs?"asked Priyanka Gandhi Vadara.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the government's response, stating, "The Modi government's attitude seems unaffected despite the escalating violence in Jammu and Kashmir. We must reassess our security strategy to protect the Jammu region from such attacks."

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi briefed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on the ongoing operation following the encounter. The joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in the Dessa area continues as reinforcements tighten the cordon.

The incident underscores ongoing security challenges in the region, prompting calls for a review of national security measures amid heightened tensions.
