NEW DELHI: How did the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) concluded that Rafale fighter jet deal negotiated by BJP-led NDA government in 2016 is 2.86 per cent cheaper than the deal by Congress-led UPA government in 2007?

In its report tabled in Parliament today, the CAG has done an item-wise cost analysis comparing each part and aspect of the two deals.

Below is the detail of the cost analysis that gives exact percentage of variation in price in the NDA deal when compared to the previous UPA deal. The minus sign shows how much the NDA deal is cheaper than the UPA deal:
