NEW DELHI: A Naxal leader, who was allegedly involved in an attack on a police party in Jharkhand's Chatra last December, has been arrested by Delhi Police's Special Cell.

A senior police officer today said that the arrested Naxalite, Nagina, has been a 'sub-divisional commander' of Chatra area and was active in Aurangabad, Chatra and adjoining areas.

On specific units, a team of Special Cell arrested him from South West Delhi last night, he said.

He was allegedly involved in a Maoist assault on a police party at Itkhori in Chatra district in which one constable was killed and two others were injured in December, 2014.

An award of Rs 5 lakh was declared by Jharkhand Police on his arrest.
