Indian Navy commissioned its latest stealth frigate INS Tamal at a ceremony in Kaliningrad, Russia, on Tuesday. It is likely to be the last warship constructed abroad, with all future ships planned to be constructed at Indian shipyards.

The ship was commissioned in the presence of senior Indian and Russian officials, including vice admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, flag officer commanding-in-chief, Western Naval Command. It is the second of the Tushil class of warships in service with the Indian Navy, with two more under construction at the Goa Shipyard Limited.
