NATO not planning to deploy forces to Ukraine: Jens Stoltenberg

"We call on Russia, on President (Vladimir) Putin to withdraw its forces, but we have no plans of deploying NATO troops on the ground in Ukraine," Stoltenberg said after a meeting of NATO defence ministers.

NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said Wednesday the alliance was not planning to send forces to Ukraine, after Poland called for it to deploy a peacekeeping mission.

"We call on Russia, on President (Vladimir) Putin to withdraw its forces, but we have no plans of deploying NATO troops on the ground in Ukraine," Stoltenberg said after a meeting of NATO defence ministers.
