Nagaland: One Assam Rifles personnel dead, four injured in suspected IED attack

One Assam Rifles member died and four were injured in a suspected IED blast. The explosion targeted Assam Rifles vehicles near Sukhovi in Nagaland state. Officials confirmed the incident occurred on Monday, with operations currently underway.

According to officials, one member of the Assam Rifles lost his life and four others got injured in an possible IED (improvised explosive device) explosion near Sukhovi in the Nagaland state on Monday.

The Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kohima stated that the Assam Rifles vehicles were targeted in the explosion.

“A suspected IED blast is reported near, Sukhovi on Assam Rifles vehicles. 1 security personnel has lost his life and 4 injured. Operation in progress. Further details awaited,” the Defence PRO said.


A search operation is reportedly ongoing in the nearby region and officials said that more details will be provided in the future.
