Every year, around 60,000 military personnel hang their boots and join the mainstream civilian life, while continuing their ties with the defence forces.

NEW DELHI: In a first, military veterans had their tableaux on display at the Republic Day Parade, amid their continuing agitation for implementation of One-Rank-One-Pension.

The tableaux, which was put out by Directorate of Army Veterans, showcased the role of veterans in nation building. It also conveyed the message that a soldier always tries to contribute to nation building, irrespective of his being in service or not.
