Militants kill two cops in J&K's Bandipora

​​The duo was shifted to a nearby medical facility, where they succumbed to injuries. They were identified as senior grade constable Muhammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad.

Two policemen were killed in a militant attack on Friday evening at Gulshan Chowk in Bandipora district of northern Kashmir. According to officials, the militants opened fire upon a police party at Gulshan Chowk, in which two of the policemen were critically injured.

The duo was shifted to a nearby medical facility, where they succumbed to injuries. They were identified as senior grade constable Muhammad Sultan and constable Fayaz Ahmad.

"Terrorists fire upon a police party ar Gulshan Chowk area of Bandipora. Two police personnel got injured and attained martyrdom. Area has been cordoned and further details will follow," said the police spokesperson in the Kashmir zone.
