MBA graduate from Jammu reportedly joins terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen
Haroon Abbas Wani was working with a pharmaceutical company in Jammu and reportedly went missing from Bhatindi in Jammu city.

A picture of Haroon Abbas Wani, who is 29-years-old and has an MBA degree, holding an assault rifle went viral.
“Of course, it is shocking for everybody. He is a well qualified youth, an MBA from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. His father is a serving engineer and one of his brothers is an MA. He comes from a very good and qualified family,” a report in Hindustan Times quoted Rafiq-ul-Hassan Qadri, DIG, Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range, as saying.
Wani was working with a pharmaceutical company in Jammu and reportedly went missing from Bhatindi in Jammu city, the report added.
Rising number of youth in Kashmir joining terror outfits has raised security concerns. A report by news agency PTI quoted officials as saying that 2018 could turn out to be the worst year in terms of number of youths joining militancy. Already, the number had crossed 81 till May while the number of those who picked up guns stood at 126 in 2017, the report added. This is the highest number since 2010, the PTI report attributed the information to data presented in the state assembly and Parliament.
In March, Junaid Ashraf Khan, son of senior separatist leader and chief of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, had joined the terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen. Junaid holds an MBA degree from University of Kashmir.
