Maulana Masood Azhar plotted Pathankot, JIT told

NEW DELHI: India has informed the Pakistan JIT that JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar plotted the Pathankot attack and guided the entire operation from Pakistan. Top NIA officials, who held closed door meeting with five JIT members, sought the voice samples of Azhar and his brother Rauf Asghar that can be compared with the evidence collected by the Indian agency.

Rauf, JeM’s supreme commander, was in touch with key planner and handler Kashif Jaan. As per NIA, the chain of command during the attack leads up to Azhar. NIA also informed the JIT that it was Jaan who escorted the terrorists to the point of infiltration on the Pakistani side.

In a statement issued late on Monday night, NIA said: ‘The Pak team and NIA are interacting... The JIT will be taken to different locations associated with the Pathankot case on the 29th.”
