NEW DELHI: At least 10 attackers of NSCN(K) who ambushed troops in Manipur on June 4 have been identified after the arrest of a key member of the Naga militant group in Delhi, officials said on Tuesday.

The accused, identified as Ngamsinlung Panmei, is also the self styled health minister cum political advisor of NSCN (K) and met SS Khaplang, the head of the group, in Taga in Myanmar in March, when the conspiracy to carry out the attack on the 6 Dogra regiment of Indian Army was hatched, officials said.

The questioning of Panmei also confirmed that a local resident of Chandel in Manipur, Startsan, who is also the revenue collector of that area, led the attack on Indian Army. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probing the attack on Indian Army will now seek custody of Panmei.
