Manipur ambush aftermath: NIA builds database, zeroes in on NSCN(K) operatives
The National Investigation Agency is working on a database of about 60 'overt' and 'underground' supporters of the NSCN(K).

The initial analysis of the strike on the Dogra Regiment convoy by intelligence agencies shows that about 45 men had taken part in the June 4 ambush. That attack would not have been possible without help from local sympathizers.
Investigators will bring these sympathizers to NIA's CRPF camp office in Imphal over the next few weeks and interrogate them to get leads on NSCN(K) and its affiliates. It will also request the Army to share its database on NSCN(K) members and intelligence with it, so that there's a coordinated investigation.
Meanwhile, teams from CFSL Kolkata, NIA and National Bomb Data Centre experts, on way to the June 4 attack spot, were stopped on Wednesday after an intel alert that a bomb may have been placed on the route targeting them.NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency is working on a database of about 60 'overt' and 'underground' supporters of the NSCN(K), who, sources say, assist the outfit in its operations.
