'Make in India' a win-win situation for us, says Rafael Advanced Defense Systems

QUEPEM (GOA): 'Make in India' is a win-win situation for us, said Giora Katz, Executive Vice-President of Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. Katz told Economictimes.com, "Movement towards 'Make in India' is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase our technology. We would like to work with our Indian partner right from the beginning in manufacturing and maintainence of products so that we can provide excellent solution to the armed forces."

Stating that the company is a team player, Katz said, "Rafael has joint venture with Bharat Forge for land systems and has also signed one with Reliance Defence for air missile sytems. In both the cases, the company wants to provide best of its knowledge to the partners as much larger goals can be achieved together."

During Defence Expo 2016, Reliance Defence Ltd, a unit of Reliance Infrastructure, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems agreed to set up a joint venture in the specialized areas of air-to-air missiles, air defence systems and large aerostats.

Katz said that he believed India will become a major manufacturing, designing and developing hub for defence products. He said, "India is a huge country with unlimited potential. We find huge amount of talent in India, so we wish that the government should open more roads for investment and business opportunities."

Rafael Advanced Systems, Katz explained, has extensive range of products to cater to defence solutions. He said, "We have excellence in land, air and sea defence systems.

Talking about what Rafael eyes in terms of the joint ventures it has signed, Katz said," The end user satisfaction of our products is very important for us. The ultimate test for us is whether the Indian armed forces are happy with our technology and mobility."
