Rear Admiral A George, Additional Director General, Quality Assurance (Warship Projects) formally awarded the ‘Green Channel Status’ to L&T Valves during the QA Industry Conclave (South Zone) in Chennai on Friday.
Sameer Godbole, CFO, L&T Valves and SP Rajnish, GM, Business Development, Special Projects, L&T Valves received the status from Rear Admiral George.
The wholly-owned subsidiary was accorded the status after stringent audits of its production facilities, quality systems and products carried out by DGQA.
The Green Channel Policy was introduced in March 2017 by the Ministry of Defence as part of the 'Make In India' initiative. It allows manufacturers to self-certify their supplies to the Defence Services.
L&T Valves makes valves for sectors like oil and gas, power, petrochemicals, chemicals, water as well as defence and aerospace.
