GUWAHATI: Militant outfit khaplang faction of NSCN on friday claimed it has managed to thawart and sent back 12 Para Commandos of the army.

In a statement to media houses the myanmar based outfit stated that army intruded one and half hour walking distance into Naga Myanmar area after crossing Thorloi the first border village.

The statement added that commandos were first spotted by cadres manning the forward security post and 5-6 commandos were gunned down.

The dispersed Commandos tried to regroup to counter attack but were forced to retreat. "The hot pursuit by our cadres on the retreating commandos and exchange of fire started at around 3.30 am till 6 am" the statement added.
