The National Investigation Agency (NIA) attached the property of Pakistan-based militant Basit Ahmad Reshi, a native of Baramulla of northern Kashmir, on Friday.

NIA officials said Reshi is a "listed terrorist" under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and has been operating from Pakistan after his exfiltration from Kashmir.

The development came a day after the house of Pakistan-based founder of Al Umar Mujahideen, Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar alias Latram, was attached in Srinagar.

So far, the agency has attached the properties of five designated militants - including Gurpatwant Singh Pannun (US-based), Hardeep Singh Nijjar (Canada-based) and Pakistan-based Mushtaq Zargar, Basit and KCF Paramjit Singh alias Panjwar.

"Basit has been found funding terror activities and acts in the Valley. He joined the militant ranks in 2015 and was involved in planning and execution of a terror attack at police guard post in Sopore that killed one constable and injured others," said a statement issued by the NIA.

Reshi was earlier associated with Hizbul-Mujahideen and later he exfiltrated to Pakistan. According to NIA officials, Reshi is presently involved in militant activities of The Resistance Front (TRF) and manages and supplies arms and ammunition as well as funds for the TRF from across the border. "Basit's agriculture land measuring 9.25 marlas has been attached under the provisions of UA(P) Act. Representatives of the state government and state police assisted the NIA in the Attachment process," said the NIA.
