Karbi Peoples' Liberation Tigers militants apprehended

GUWAHATI: Two harcore Karbi Peoples' Liberation Tigers (KPLT) militants have been apprehended today by security forces in Karbi Anglong district of Assam.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of army, police and CRPF personnel launched a joint operation in Bokajan area of the district and apprehended the two militants, a police spokesman said here.

The militants have been identified as the outfits' self styled 'finance secretary' Dengja alias Bonnet Teron and self styled area 'Commander' of Deithol and Chokihola Raikom Timung.

The security forces recovered a 9 mm semi automatic gun with magazines, five live ammunition, extortion notes and other decoments from the duo, the spokesman added.
