J&K: Militants fire at MLA Tarigami's house in Kulgam dist

Militants attacked the ancestral residence of Kulgam MLA Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami in the south Kashmir district late evening today but no one was hurt in the incident.

Gunmen opened fire at Tarigami's residence at Taragam village in Kulgam district at around 9 pm, officials said.

The CPI(M) MLA, who had visited the village in the afternoon, had left for his Srinagar residence when the attack took place.

Tarigami confirmed that firing had taken place but added that no one was hurt.

Police officers rushed to the spot following the attack. Further details were awaited.
