The fresh spate of attacks took place amid heightened security arrangements for the ongoing tourism season and the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
Srinagar: A CRPF personnel was killed and five others were injured in three separate militant attacks in Kashmir's Srinagar and Pulwama districts since Sunday night. In a fourth incident on Monday afternoon, two labourers from Bihar were shot at Lajurah village of Pulwama in southern Kashmir.

Later in the evening, a Kashmiri Pandit, 35-year-old Bal Krishan, was shot at and injured by suspected terrorists at Chotigam in Shopian district late, officials said, adding he was taken to district hospital.

The fresh spate of attacks took place amid heightened security arrangements for the ongoing tourism season and the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.


CRPF personnel were attacked on Monday afternoon near the busy Maisuma area of Srinagar, where they were stationed as part of the daily security routine. Police officials said two CRPF men were injured when unidentified attackers fired at them.

They were shifted to a hospital, but one of them succumbed to the injuries. The police and paramilitary launched an immediate search operation in the area to nab the attackers. The political parties in Kashmir condemned that attack on the CRPF personnel.
