Jawans to pedal for 400 km in high altitude areas
To celebrate the golden jubilee of the 51 Engineer Regiment, 17 jawans will embark on a 20-day-long cycling expedition.= to Sokkim and Bengal.

The team would start from Sukhna in North Bengal on October 1 to reach Nathula in east Sikkim by pedalling a gruelling 400 km distance in a span of 20 days, officials said.
The expedition would see one officer, one junior commissioned officer and 15 other ranks showcasing the spirit of adventure, camaraderie and leadership upheld by the Regiment over the last 50 years.
The 51 Engineer Regiment was raised on December 15, 1965.
This gruelling event would test the physical as well as mental robustness of the team as the members will cycle uphill over rugged and mountainous terrain to an altitude of 14,600 feet, the officials added.
