Two CRPF jawans and two policemen were injured in an encounter with terrorists in the Khanyar area of Srinagar on Saturday. Officials reported that security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the area following information about the presence of terrorists.

The search operation escalated into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire on the search party, and the security forces retaliated. Officials confirmed that two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans and two policemen were injured in the exchange of fire and were taken to the Army's 92 Base Hospital. Their condition is stated to be stable.

The operation in Khanyar is still ongoing.


In a separate incident, security forces killed two terrorists in an encounter near Halkan Gali in the Shangus-Larnoo area of Anantnag district.
