Jamiatul Mujahideen Bangladesh terrorist becoming active again, Dhaka tells India
The JMB operatives who were earlier based in West Bengal’s Burdawan are said to have shifted base to Bangladesh along the border with India.

An Indian delegation recently held a meeting with local police authorities in Dhaka on renewed threats from JMB, particularly in the Northern provinces of Bangladesh, sources in Bangladesh government told ET. After being chased from West Bengal, JMB is trying to establish bases across Bagura, Shylet, Rajshahi and Kustia areas of Bangladesh, according to information shared by the Indian team with Bangladesh officials.
There are reports that JMB may also plan terror strikes in Bangladesh and local security agencies are coordinating with their Indian counterparts to prevent such incidents, sources from Dhaka informed.
The JMB operatives who were earlier based in West Bengal’s Burdawan are said to have shifted base to Bangladesh along the border with India. It is also understood that these operatives may be in touch with their counterparts still hiding in India and mobile tracking may be necessary to identify these extremists, Bangla government sources said. The National Investigation Agency has handed over names of 100 JMB operatives to Bangladesh security establishment.
There are fears that JMB operatives may stage an incident in Bangladesh on the lines of Burdawan attack. Bangladesh police are also keeping a close watch on JMB cadres who were recently released from jails there as they claim that the group was earlier planning to stake massive terror strikes to oust the Sheikh Hasina government.
