J-K: Pakistani troops violate ceasefire by firing on Indian positions along LoC

A befitting response is being given by the Indian army to the Pakistani aggression.

SRINAGAR: Pakistani troops on Monday targeted Indian positions on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Tangdhar sector by firing mortars and from other weapons, a defence spokesman said.

"Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along LoC in Tangdhar sector, Kupwara district, today by firing mortars and other weapons," Defence Spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

He said a befitting response is being given by the Indian army to the Pakistani aggression.


There have been no reports of any casualties in the firing so far.

According to a PTI report, Pakistan on November 13 indulged in heavy cross-border shelling along the Line of Control. Four Indian Army personnel, a BSF sub-inspector and six civilians were killed while four security forces personnel and eight civilians were injured in the firing by Pakistan during the multiple ceasefire violations between Gurez and Uri sectors in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
