Jammu and Kashmir encounter
Two encounters are underway in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur and Kishtwar districts, where infiltrators are said to be trapped.

In Udhampur, the operation began on Wednesday after security forces established contact with three suspected infiltrators during a search operation in Jopher village under Ramnagar police station. "Firing is ongoing," police said, adding that two to three terrorists are trapped in the area.

SSP Udhampur Amod Ashok Nagpure said the operation is taking place in "a very inaccessible area with high mountains, dense forests, and a river below." He added, "All teams are safe, morale is high, and we hope for a successful operation. The firing continued for about two hours, and we responded with retaliatory fire."

Soon after, another exchange of fire broke out in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar, where forces have reportedly cornered two to three infiltrators near the forested zone.

The operations come amid heightened alert in Jammu, where forces have been tracking infiltrators across Kathua and Samba since March 24. In one encounter on March 27, two infiltrators and four policemen were killed.
