Residents in parts of the city reported hearing multiple explosions, while authorities urged the public to remain indoors as security forces assessed the situation.

Qatar’s interior ministry warned that the threat level remained elevated and issued an urgent advisory to residents.
"The security threat level is high," the interior ministry posted on X, urging "everyone to adhere to staying at home, not going out, and staying away from windows and open areas to preserve public safety."
The security alerts were not limited to Qatar. In neighbouring Bahrain, Reuters witnesses reported hearing four loud booms shortly after emergency sirens sounded across parts of the island nation.

Further north in the Gulf, Reuters witnesses also reported a loud bang in Dubai, though there was no immediate confirmation of its cause.
The developments come amid escalating tensions in the region following ongoing hostilities involving Iran, Israel and the United States with several Gulf states on heightened alert as the conflict shows signs of spilling beyond its initial theatres.
Authorities across the Gulf have stepped up monitoring and emergency preparedness as the situation continues to evolve.
