As the Iran war enters its 24th day, the conflict has reached a dangerous inflection point marked by ultimatums, widening battle lines and deepening economic fallout.

President Donald Trump said on Monday that the United States and Iran were engaged in “very strong talks” aimed at ending the three-week conflict in the Middle East. He added that his son-in-law Jared Kushner and senior adviser Steve Witkoff were leading the negotiations on behalf of Washington.

Trump also said he would delay any U.S. strikes on Iranian power plants by five days to allow diplomacy to proceed. However, Iran appeared—at least publicly—to dismiss any signs of progress in ending the U.S.-Israeli conflict, now in its fourth week.

Officials from the U.S., Israel and Iran have repeatedly offered conflicting assessments during the war, reflecting their competing agendas and strategic objectives.
