Iran’s Natanz nuclear plant shows damage at entrance, IAEA says no radiological risk

Iran-Israel War: The IAEA has confirmed recent damage to the entrance buildings of Iran’s Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP), but said no radiological consequences are expected and no further impact has been detected at the main facility.

The United Nations nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said on Tuesday that recent damage was observed at the entrance buildings of Iran’s underground Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP), but no radiological consequences are expected and no additional impact has been detected at the facility itself.

The IAEA statement said, “Based on the latest available satellite imagery, IAEA can now confirm some recent damage to entrance buildings of Iran’s underground Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP). No radiological consequence expected and no additional impact detected at FEP itself, which was severely damaged in the June conflict.”

The agency emphasised that while the entrance buildings sustained damage, the core enrichment facility remains unaffected and safe from any radiological risk.
