Deceased Iran Supreme Leader Khamenei’s wife Mansoureh Khojasteh dies of injuries after US & Israel strikes

Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died from injuries sustained during recent attacks, Iranian state media reported, amid an escalating conflict with the United States and Israel.

State outlets confirmed that Mansoureh, who had remained largely out of the public eye throughout her husband’s long rule, succumbed to her wounds following a joint U.S.–Israeli military attack that also killed Khamenei and several members of his family.

Khamenei, Iran’s supreme political and religious authority since 1989, was killed on February 28 in a wave of coordinated airstrikes targeting Tehran and other strategic sites, marking one of the most significant escalations in the region in decades.


Iran has declared a 40-day period of national mourning.

Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, who married Khamenei in 1964 and had six children with him, rarely appeared in official functions and was known for maintaining a private life despite her husband’s prominent stature.

The U.S. and Israel have not released independent confirmation regarding the deaths of Khamenei’s immediate family members beyond the supreme leader, but Iranian state media reports have repeatedly cited multiple fatalities among his relatives in the attacks.
