Intelligence alert regarding terror attacks by Lashkar-e-Taiba on PM Modi, Parliament
The alert came a day after the Centre asked all states to be extra vigilant to thwart any attempt by terrorists and subversive elements to disrupt peace.

The Lashkar-e-Taiba might also target nuclear installations and Army headquarters, the intelligence note said. While citing an interception decoded by them, the agencies alerted that around 18 terrorists might have entered the country from across the border to carry out the attacks. “All of them are currently believed to be in India,” the report said.

Intelligence agencies have issued a country-wide advisory, asking all states to deploy additional forces in crowded places like railway stations, bus terminals, markets and religious places to foil attempts by terrorists to carry out attacks.
The police forces of major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkat a , Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Goa had been asked to be extra vigilant during the upcoming New Year celebrations, said intelligence officials.
